Founder & CEO, BARE
Homelessness is solvable.
For more than a decade, he has said so out loud — and then gone and proved it, one household at a time.
Three places
One city taught him what falling through the cracks costs. The next became the proving ground. West Virginia is a different problem altogether — homelessness that hides in hollows and back roads instead of on sidewalks, and it needs an answer built for that.
Kansas City, MOWhere he's from.
Los Angeles, CAWhere he built it.

About Joseph
Joseph Bradford III is the Founder and CEO of BARE, a nonprofit transforming the lives of people experiencing homelessness through housing, supportive services, workforce development, and community collaboration.
He came to this work through it. Homeless himself at seven, after his father died, he founded BARE in 2016 to build the kind of support he once needed and couldn't find.
In the years since, he has helped thousands of people find their footing: families moved out of encampments and into places of their own, young people matched with mentors who stayed, neighbors fed and cared for and walked alongside long after the crisis passed. Throughout, he has challenged the idea that homelessness is too large a problem to solve, building programs that restore dignity, create opportunity, and move people from crisis to stability.
Joseph is known for bringing together government agencies, nonprofit organizations, corporate partners, faith communities, and local residents to create meaningful, measurable impact. His message is both practical and inspiring, proving that lasting change happens when communities work together.
Housing only works when people are treated as capable and supported beyond the front door.

SNJ Strategic Solutions
Joseph co-founded SNJ Strategic Solutions to give other nonprofits the operational footing he had to build from scratch. The firm works alongside organizations on grant writing, donor cultivation, capital campaigns, strategic planning, leadership training, bookkeeping, and website development.
It is the unglamorous infrastructure that decides whether a good mission survives its first five years.
